FDA approved Faecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT)
A new Faecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) is now FDA approved and available for the US market. The test identifies occult blood in stool, helping to indicate the following conditions: bleeding oesophageal varices, colon polyp, oesophagitis, gastritis, GI trauma, haemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcer and angiodysplasia of the colon. The test is highly sensitive (0.2μ hHB/mL) and accurate and, due to its high sensitivity, dietary restrictions are not required in order to obtain accurate results. The test kit includes collection tube, collection paper, gloves and card test. Results are easily read by visually observing the appearance of pink bands in the test area.
