POC creatinine monitoring system. Incorporating new patented, Multi-Well test strip technology adapted from the company's hospital glucose monitoring system, Nova StatSensor Creatinine allows creatinine to be measured with a simple 30 second test in the emergency department, radiology, oncology or other point-of-care areas where renal function must be assessed.
The test measures creatinine and calculates estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) by MDRD or Cockroft-Gault equations. Creatinine with eGFR is a more accurate and sensitive measurement of kidney function than creatinine alone. In fact, the National Kidney Disease Education Program recommends reporting of eGFR with every creatinine measurement. The test offers easy, virtually painless capillary blood sampling on small, 1.2 microlitre blood samples with fast, 30-second test results. Excellent correlation to central laboratory reference methods is provided over a wide measurement range from 0.03-12 mg/dL.The test interfaces seamlessly with hospital and laboratory information systems.
