Mixer for small volumes. A new mixer is available for performing fast, quiet and well controlled 2-dimensional mixing of tubes and plates without cross-contamination or spillage. MixMate optimises mixing parameters and combines a plate and tube mixer with an integrated 3,500 rpm vortex function. The instrument effectively mixes very small volumes of aqueous solutions and suspensions in PCR plates (skirted, semi-skirted, or unskirted), deep well plates and MTPs up to 96- and 384-well formats, as well as all standard micro test tubes. This is the only mixer which unites a plate and tube mixer for volumes up to 2.0 mL with a vortex function in a 3-in-1 format. The innovative control software enables effective, controlled sample mixing in a 3 mm orbit in less than a minute, with no need for a lid to avoid spillage. The instrument’s pre-programmed soft keys allow selection of the optimal parameters for various plate and tube formats, while adjustable mixing speed, automatic imbalance detection and extremely quiet operation enhance usability. This makes the instrument ideal for PCR setup, re-suspending pellets, mixing gel loading buffers, reporter gene assays, immunoassays and colorimetric protein quantification. Mixer for small volumes
