ADA colorimetric test for the diagnosis of TB and other infectious diseases
ADA colorimetric test
Tuberculosis (TB) has a high prevalence globally; it is frequently difficult to obtain a differential diagnosis. Developed for use in clinical laboratories to facilitate the diagnosis of TB, the Adenosine Deaminase (ADA) colorimetric test for the determination of ADA activity in biological fluids is a valuable diagnostic tool. ADA can also be used to monitor other infectious or lymphoproliferative diseases, both in serum and other biological fluids. This new product expands the Biosystem’s portfolio of dedicated biochemical reagents and provides a rapid, simple and low cost method for clinical laboratories. The automated colorimetric ADA test can be included on commonly used clinical analysers, together with other routine tests. The test reagent is stable for 30 days, offering a significant advantage over other available products using the same method. In addition, Biosystems produces controls (levels I and II) for ADA.
