Developed as a unique tool for researchers in the fields of diabetology, obesity and cardiovascular diseases, this new sandwich ELISA system enables quantitative measurement of high molecular weight (HMW) adiponectin in mice and rats and complements the company’s existing range of human adiponectin tests. The high assay sensitivity means that only very small sample volumes are needed (e.g. 50µL of a 1:50 diluted sample). The dynamic range is large. The ELISA uses a monoclonal antibody specific for HMW adiponectin of both mouse and rat species. There is only <5% cross reactivity with hexameric adiponectin, and none at all with the monomeric form.
