QIAGEN has launched the Investigator PCR assays for human identification. With an initial offering of twelve assays to be released throughout 2010, this new portfolio features the most comprehensive and versatile coverage of current STR standards, including the new extended European Standard Set (ESS), CODIS, DAD, and ISSOL requirements. In addition, innovative software suites for analysis and interpretation of STR genotyping data will become available. The new portfolio complements the company’s high-quality extraction and sample management solutions, providing a complete workflow solution for the field of human identity & forensics. Furthermore, the portfolio addresses the latest European Union resolution on the exchange of national DNA database information. To facilitate and standardise this exchange, the European Standard Set of STR markers has been expanded and laboratories are expected to adopt this standard over time.
